The water must be cold!

Thank you!

Semper Fidelis was adopted about 1883 as the motto of the Corps. Taken from Latin, it means "Always Faithful." But it is more than just a motto for Marines, it is a way of life. It is a commitment we all share to our country, to our Corps, and to each other. This is why there are no ex-Marines, only former Marines.
As a former Marine and an American veteran I would like to take the time to say thank you to the members of our armed services past, present, and future!

the election

So here it is, Saturday. The election is over and no, I didn't vote! I wasn't allowed too. A huge Thank you Maryland (read that as stupid ass hat of a state)!

I will admit a few crime here so please don't report me

I have lived in Maryland for several years now and while living here I have paid for and registered a new car. I have purchased my first house, I have paid all my taxes. What I have not done is get a Maryland Drivers Licence.. OH NO you may say. I tried, they wont let me!

I run out to the MVA with my social Security card, a bill sent to my home, my Maine Driver's licence and a copy of my birth certificate. Nope, still not a legal Maryland residence.. the reason why is the kicker:

my birth certificate didn't state if I was male of female!!! OMFG what??? here check!

OK, all that aside My Maine drivers licence clearly states that I am male. The fact that I didn't shave for three days shows that I can grow a beard, what else do they want from me??

Thinking a little outside of the box.. Lets say I wasn't born male? What would the MVA do, put Female on my licence? I'm not so sure I could pull that off when I got pulled over!!

Well I need to figure this out because my Maine drivers licence expires in January =/

tick tock

Tick tock, tick tock
Aidan is on his way, and he is heading here as fast as I drive that candy orange mazdaspeed
sitting out in the driveway. You look in the rear view mirror and you know there is a car there, but before you can react or get all the stuff needed for a new baby to come and visit, that car is
right along side of you blowing you kisses and
 making you change his diaper.

Where has the time gone? It felt like only a month or three that we found out that we will finally have a child, but its been much more than that! Now the ultrasound tech has
informed us that we are not just going to have a child, we have created a frog catching, mud crawling, rock throwing adventure who we will name Aidan, and love. Even if it means hunting bull frogs after dinner with a flash light in waist deep, ice cold sludge.

I can't wait to be able to do things with my son. My son, I can't get over those words, they excite and fear me at the same time. Thank you!

My posts haven't all been about whats going on in our life to much but really there aren't a bunch of DR appointments to write about anymore, we have made it past those and are on our way to bringing our son into this world. For now you will have to continue dealing with my random thoughts on the world as I see it.

Thursday...

Thursday, so close to the weekend but not close enough

I have a small addiction to smarties, the candy. Being the end of October there is a holiday dentists created to boost end of year sales known as Halloween! This may be my favorite holiday ever not because of all the kids running around not paying attention to traffic its not even really the candy, its the fact that I love GORE!

I am a fan of bloody horror movies. Cheap acting, bad editing, nor bad camera work can ruin a movie with top rated visual gore effects! Spend your entire budget on making 32,000 gallons of fake blood and flesh.. and i am sure you can come with something that will make me want to watch it... even if its a 3 minute youtube clip!

ahh.. I got off the topic of the smarties! I managed to gather a few rolls of these gems and opened them up and poured the candy goods all over my desk and started pulling out the colors and making some nice piles.

what did i find out? there are very little purple and "orange" smarties in a pack. maybe one or two if your lucky.  I think the coloring may cost more money than the rest. Keeping that in mind (that coloring may cost more, so the colored smarties may cost more each to create)  yellow, green and "red" all have about the same number of pieces on average. what color was left?

WHITE, the color that has no coloring. almost three times the number of white smarties in a pack than any other color! I know smarties aren't very costly, but I also know that every penny matters! you think you get a fair even number of colors in your smarties ... nooooo.

back to the gore, i find it may be nice to share with you all, the most important thing I know

Fake Blood

1/2 c. Warm Water

4 Tbsp Corn Syrup

1 Tbsp Powdered Cocoa

1 tsp Red Food Coloring

you just mix the water and cocoa together and then add the rest of the stuff in. Let the concoction sit for awhile and skim the bubbles off of the top. Add a couple of drops of yellow food coloring if you're not satisfied.

it looks freaking great, tastes pretty good, and dries like real blood if you want to splatter it on a pair of overalls and walk around with a giant wrench it will work well!!

Oh BOY!

So its Thursday, I haven't posted much this month and thought I'd push one out real quick so here we go.

Tuesday Jaime and I had our latest ultra sound and what a joy it was. It's a little sad that this is really the first time that I've seen my boy as a child, not a blurry image in some black and white shot and I must be honest, it freaking rocks! I'm going to have a son!

If you have read Jaime's blog you know that I questioned the spelling of our new son's name (Aidan or Aiden) the more I think about this I'm not 100% sure it makes a difference to me. I was looking to spell it Aiden because it looked right to me, well I was wrong! Wikipedia says Aidan is the correct Irish spelling where Aiden is a more popular version here in the states.. so Jaime, Aidan is perfectly fine by me! Even if wikipedia isn't the most reliable source of information. OHHH another reason I could be wrong, Blogger's spell check wants to change every Aiden to Aidan so.. yeah.

While I'm not Irish I have wanted to be, so lets fake it, pass the ale and say hello to my boy!!

Monday blah!

So it's Monday..

One more week down, another step closer to march, another day closer to finding out how truely unprepaird for the real world I am!

Today I brought a fantastic, money saving soup in a can to work.. Perfect, minus one detail

I forgot the bowl!

This may not seem like a big deal as far as lunch errors go but, what other important things in life can go wrong by just forgetting one part of the whole??

Getting the baby dressed, loading up the diaper bag, locking the carseat down tighter than fort Knox, driving to your destination with care, and guess what.. Ya left the kid home.. But I only forgot one thing!!

Making a pizza and finding out you left the crust on the counter.. What a mess you made!

Monday.. I'm excited for your return.. I'm excited to see what else I forget next week!

Peace, love, and lots of sleep - till next time I'm out.

Wednesday off from work

So here it is, wednesday and I'm off for the day. It's not just that but it's also the fact that I'm not the only one in the house with this day off from work... Jaime does too!!

I'm so excited to have a day off with her, we got to "sleep" in. We have an entire day to do anything we want!!

What is it we are doing today.. Going to the storage place to put some more junk under lock and key!! An amazing event I tell you, amazing!

More fun events include playing some madden 08 on the 360, eating poptarts, drinking coffee, a haircut.. So yeah, tons of fun.

Posted from my iPhone on the way to Cambridge!

back in the driver's seat

A few mods on the blog today, I put in a turbo charger, some of that jet fuel I have been saving, put the heavy foot on the peddle to the right, and the the left one got the gentle touch. With a flick of the wrist the beast went into gear with glee! I lift the left foot.

What a beautiful sound as the tires scream against the fresh pavement and my head presses against the seat. oh how i love this.

No more worries about what is in the mirror, it can't catch me anyway!

that being said.. I am pushing the rest of my posts into the "this is whats going on now" field, as I don't want to spend my days thinking of all the things we have gone through to get to this point. On to that checkered flag!

I'll be posting on a more regular basis.. no really, I will.

In the begining

A long time ago, in a place far far away Jaime and I decided that we were ready for children. In August of 2003, Jaime put down the birth control pills and we started on this crazy journey called, trying to conceive or TTC as all the girls out there call it.. Don't worry I don't know many of the terms they use, but I am trying to decipher the code!

Month after month go by, no BFP (Big Fat Positive) as they say in the cool club. Scheduled "date" nights, make me feel like I should be punching in for the act, and I was just there to get her pregnant. Yes I was being used for sex and no, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Every month Jaime would cry as if the world had ended while I thought "OK, we can try some more!" however, I couldn't help but feel as if I had failed as a husband. Unable to give my wife the child we both wanted so much. Life wasn't the best.

A full year passes and still nothing. One year! What the hell was my problem? All my friends are getting their women knocked up and some of them didn't even try. We decided to give up on the scheduled nights and go with the flow, if it happens it happens.

I am a pretty good guy, it just didn't feel that way back then.

I made the jump..

I made the jump onto the "blogwagon" and started this glorious portal into my world.

Who am I? My name is Chris and I'm going insane, slowly over the next 9 months or so!

Why a blog? I wanted a place to share my side of THE story. You see, I am married to a great woman and we are crazy in love there is just one problem. We have been trying to have a child for years now with no luck! Big problem if you want children.

The point of this blog is to fill you in on the ups, downs, and sideways of trying to have a child when you can't seem to do it the old fashion way.

I am jumping into this blog thing in the middle of the story, So I will write up a time line as of now but I warn you, its been a while.

Check for it shortly
